Originally created to ease clinic days and foster child- doctor interaction, the Purple Bench Play Corner has expanded to become a safe, inclusive space designed for children living with epilepsy to learn, play, and express themselves freely without fear or stigma. It provides age-appropriate educational materials and trained facilitators who promote awareness, inclusion, and psychosocial support. This initiative aligns with the Inter-sectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and other Neurological Disorders (IGAP), particularly Target 5.2, which focuses on strengthening health and social care services for people with neurological disorders by integrating community-based rehabilitation, early childhood development, and inclusive education.

Art for awareness harnesses the power of creativity and expression to educate and enable children share their experience and perspectives on Epilepsy. These exercises build on a conversation rooted in perceptions with an aim of shifting these into more inclusivity. The engenders supportive spaces for children living with epilepsy in schools and nurtures positive peer interactions.
